Swirski Ulti-Mite Sachets: Controlled-Release Predatory Mites for thrips, whiteflies, and spider mites
Each Swirski Ulti-Mite sachet functions as a self-sufficient biological micro-factory, designed to gradually release the predatory mites Amblyseius swirskii, which are especially effective for controlling thrips, whiteflies, and spider mites. A controlled microclimate is maintained inside the sachet, thanks to a bran substrate that provides food and regulates humidity, allowing the mites to go through all their developmental stages—egg, nymph, and adult—under optimal conditions.
Once placed in the crop, the predators slowly emerge through a pre-formed opening, dispersing across leaves and flowers to actively seek out thrips, whiteflies, and spider mites. This continuous and controlled release system ensures a stable mite population for several weeks, guaranteeing constant control over thrips, whiteflies, and spider mites without the need for chemical applications.
Ulti-Mite technology offers several advantages:
- Prolonged and uniform release, maintaining biological pressure on pests for longer.
- Greater tolerance to humidity and temperature variations, thanks to its design that improves the internal ventilation of the sachet.
- Better survival and mobility of the mites, which increases their effectiveness even in conditions of climatic stress.
- Compatibility with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs, allowing it to be combined with other beneficial organisms without interfering with their action.
Mechanism of action, benefits, and application method
The predatory mites in Swirski Ulti-Mite naturally attack the eggs and larvae of thrips, whiteflies, and spider mites, eliminating pests before they develop and preventing damage to your crops.
To apply Swirski Ulti-Mite, simply hang the sachets in shaded areas of the crop, avoiding direct sunlight, and handle them by the top tab to avoid damaging the mites. It is recommended to distribute approximately 1 sachet every 2.5 m², using the product preventively or upon detecting the first pest outbreaks, repeating the application after 4 weeks if necessary.
Swirski Ulti-Mite are living organisms that must be stored in a dark, ventilated place at 10–15 °C, handling them with care. Their maximum storage is 1–2 days.
