Satibeer, Hemp Based Beer

Satibeer by CollDam is a Delicious artisanal beer made from hemp, meaning that it’s slightly different than normal beers. It is a kind of blond ale, with an alcohol percentage of 5º and with a thick body and slightly sour taste with a cannabis aroma as well as a slight hint of cannabis in the taste. CollDam is a new beer brand created towards the end of 2016 in Xátiva, Valencia, that began created hemp based beer around the start of 2017. Satibeer was born to revolutionize the cannabis based beer market; there’s plenty of them here in Spain, but Satibeer has its own personality. To get that amazing personality the best place to go was La Socarrada, one of the most amazing artisanal breweries in Spain.

Hemp has a lot of beneficial properties, like improving the immune system as well as the nervous system. This beer has absolutely no THC in its formula, so it won’t give any sort of psychoactive effect as if you had actually consumed marijuana, but it does have other cannabinoids and organic material from the plant. Hemp has many more essential fatty acids than any other plant. These fatty acids are responsible for our growth, vitality and humor, as well as being in charge of making sure that our immune system is active and responding rapidly. It has 55% Linoleic Acid, and 25% Linolenic acid, which is a higher proportion than any other plant. These acids are in charge of turning food into energy and transporting that energy around our entire bodies.

Hemp is involved in the process from the start, being mixed in with the malt to obtain a much more intense aroma. The hops are responsible for that sour taste in the beer, cooked at 100º alongside the hemp. This is how it gets that sour taste with an amazing aroma without needing to add fruit or anything like that. It has a completely artisanal aroma, and no other cannabis based beer could even come close to having a similar taste.

La Socarrada is an important artisanal brewery, and you can find it in the Valencian town, Xativa. Thanks to its amazing characteristics like its thick body, orange color or hint of rosemary, Socarrada beers have gone international, being distributed in over 20 countries. It forms part of the Premium Beers From Spain project, a project that unites the three most sold artisanal beers in Spain; La Socarrada, Er Boquerón and Toro, having sold a total of 2,000,000 bottles per year between all three. In 2012 La Socarrada was declared the best beer in the world, and in 2016 it was named one of the best flavors in the world by the international Taste&Quality Institute in Brussels. It has also won other prizes like the Dublin Craft Beer Cup in Ireland, the South Beer Cup in Argentina and the Commonwealth Cup in the US. Prestigious chefs and sommeliers from around the world have stated that La Socarrada is one of their favorite beers.
