Asthma can be a serious health issue for many people, being an illness that affects respiratory tracts, stretching them out and causing difficulty breathing, coughing and wheezing. It’s thought that the causes of asthma are a combination or environmental and genetic factors, and some believe it can be caused by viral or bacterial infections that occur at a very young age.
There’s still no cure available for asthma, although there are certain treatments available that can, in some cases, help alleviate symptoms. Many people tend to use inhalers and in some cases, steroids. The issue with these kinds of medicines is that they have many side effects like high blood pressure and anxiety.

Anti-inflammatory properties
It has been proven time and time again that cannabis can effectively reduce any sort of inflammation, and recent investigations have shown that THC is a component capable of diluting our respiratory tracts and alleviating the effects of asthma.
It might seem contradictory due to the fact that tobacco smoke does indeed have a restrictive effect on our bronchi, but cannabis actually dilutes the tract and allows people to breathe better. The last study done on the subject indicates that cannabis can even improve bronchial tubes’ structure.
Antibiotic properties
It’s also been proven that cannabinoids like THC, CBD and CBG have bactericide properties, which combined with its anti-inflammatory properties, is extremely useful for fighting lung infections, which can be the start of an asthma onslaught.
All of these things contribute strongly to the apparent fact that cannabis can be used to effectively treat asthma symptoms, as well as many other illnesses. The good thing is that recently, the medicinal properties and effects of cannabis are slowly being taken more seriously across Europe, who is obviously taking its lead from the United States. Happy Growing, guys!
