This rockwool plug tray is an inert medium with fantastic airflow that offers one of the best rooting environments. It’s important to control the humidity of the plugs as excessive moisture could cause certain problems. However, with proper use and avoiding flooding, this is one of the best rooting methods.
Learn to use a rockwool plug tray
- Before its first use, the rockwool plug tray has to be dipped in water with 5.5-5.8 pH levels, which is the perfect pH for rooting and growth.
- Drain well before using them to avoid flooding. Do not press the plugs to drain them, as this would make them lose their water retention and airflow properties, simply shake the trays up and down to remove excess water.
- Afterwards, place the seeds or clones in the plugs and once they root properly, they’ll be ready to move onto a slab or any other type of substrate.
