However, to enter one of these wonderful clubs you must have the legal age of your country, state or province: being 21 in the USA; 18 in almost all Europe; and 19 in most of the Canadian provinces.

Are cannabis lounges legal?

Of course they are legal, as long as they follow the established legislation, but please note that not all countries where weed is legal have this kind of recreational places and consumption is only permitted in private residences.

Although they must be legal to exist, it is possible to find some ‘illegal’ lounges, especially in places where they’ve not been regulated yet. However, it’s better not to take any risk when it comes to getting in trouble with the law.

Unlike normal bars, you can consume your weed in many different ways. These establishments are provided with bongs and water pipes among many paraphernalia items, so you don’t need to bring your own.

Do they sell marijuana in a cannabis lounge?

Although it is not a normal thing to sell marijuana in these bars, some legal and licensed lounges that have their own retail can indeed sell their legal products from their adjacent dispensaries.

This service comes in handy when you run out of your plant materials and don’t want to ask your friends (again) to give you some of theirs.

Where can I find a cannabis lounge?

As we’ve previously said, despite many countries, states and provinces having legalized cannabis consumption, it doesn’t mean that cannabis lounges or coffee shops are legal as well. Thus, we are going to make a brief list of some countries and states from around the world where cannabis clubs are legal.

Starting with the USA, some of the states where weed lounges are present are: Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Colorado and California. 

On the other hand, it is true that cannabis became legal in Canada in 2018, unfortunately, there are no legal cannabis lounges yet, so we are afraid that Canadian people must keep waiting.

Across the pond, it is true that in Europe there are lots of cannabis-friendly countries, but some in which marijuana lounges are legalized are Spain (specially Barcelona), Denmark and, as it could not be missed in this list, the Netherlands.

It’s a shame that even if marijuana is legalized in so many territories, there are still no-sense laws against this amazing, therapeutic and medicinal plant that keep showing everyday its full potential and benefits.
