Relaxing your pets with CBD extract is now a possibility. Ever since cannabis has been regulated and legalized many companies have surfaced that deal with cannabis in all of its aspects, working in sectors that we never would have thought possible. In this particular case we’re talking about vets. How many times has your dog been absolutely terrified because of fireworks or loud noises? Or maybe you have a dog that is simply hyperactive and needs to calm down; sometimes after certain events like surgery and the like, dogs need to be in the most relaxed state possible so that they can fully recover.

In the particular case of fireworks, it is absolutely 100% recommended to keep your dogs away from them as much as possible. Loud noises are incredibly scary to dogs, and if you add on the bright lights and gun-powder smell then you’ll definitely have a good time but your pets will absolutely detest it, as it can be quite traumatic. To try and avoid these things happening or to at least limit it in a way, Juliana Carella created a wide range of products that contain cannabinoids, both THC and CBD, for dogs. Obviously, cannabis products for animals aren’t the same as cannabis products for humans, and in this case the medicine comes in the form of simple, dry dog food with cannabinoids in it.

Similar cannabinoids to these ones, called endocannabinoids, are found in breast milk. Due to the fact that dogs are mammals like us, their system also has endocannabinoid receptors that are reflected in the development of their immune system and brain. Although many vets may say that cannabinoids can damage your dog’s liver, this isn’t true when it comes to doses of 1mg of pure CBD. Dogs show absolute tranquility, seemingly unaware of loud noises happening in their surroundings, and they act in a calm and secure manner. Remember, CBD isn’t psychoactive, so your dogs won’t be stoned or high. Juliana says that up to 1mg per 4.5kg of weight isn’t harmful at all for dogs, and it gives them a couple of hours of absolute tranquility; dogs’ digestive systems are much faster than that of a human, so any medicine given will be absorbed much faster, acting faster and therefore running its course much faster.

Another company called Barkables adds dissolved CBD extracts to vegetable oils as a dietary complement for animals. According to the manufacturer, this product will improve your pet’s mood, reducing inflammations, nauseas and many different pains. Because dogs are mammals just like us, cannabis oil is extremely helpful for bone and muscle pain like arthritis etc. that dogs tend to get because of old age or if they live in places with high levels of humidity.

It’s actually been proven that dogs which have a limp or can’t walk properly due to bone pain or other issues can greatly benefit from CBD; once administered the dogs show an enormous improvement, being able to actually walk normally without being affected by any sort of pain. CBD oils are honestly an amazing solution for dogs that have pain issues or movement issues, allowing us to give them back the life that they deserve.
