Does music affect plant growth?

The relationship between music and plant growth has been a long-studied topic. Many wonder about the effect of music on plants, which is popularly known as the “Mozart effect“. Effects of music on plants: recent evidence and studies

The University of California study on “the Mozart effect” suggests that listening to the compositions of the famous Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart could enhance brain function and, by extension, had implications for plant growth. Specific studies have revealed that frequencies between 125 and 250 Hz are particularly beneficial for plant growth. This suggests that certain sound vibrations can stimulate fundamental biological processes in plants, as well as smooth and predictable rhythms. 

Thus, genera with higher sound intensity are detrimental to vegetative development.

Similarly, those with high-pitched tones or distortions can negatively alter the internal water balance within the plant cells themselves.

How does music affect plants?
