The Valencian seed bank Sweet Seeds® is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and with it, they bring us incredible new developments, such as the addition of the new F1 Fast Version® varieties to their extensive catalog.
Sweet Seeds® is a pioneer in F1 Fast Version®
Sweet Seeds® has not only been awarded for its incredible varieties, but it has also won three awards for Best Seed Bank at Expocannabis 2007, Spannabis 2008, and Spannabis Sur 2013. We are looking at a bank that offers top-quality products, in addition to being a pioneer in autoflowering and photoperiod-dependent hybrid varieties. Furthermore, they also participate in various social works; for example, this year, they are collaborating with the Medical Cannabis Bike Tour and the European Observatory for the Consumption and Cultivation of Cannabis.
As we mentioned, Sweet Seeds® was the first bank in the world to innovate with autoflowering and photoperiod-dependent hybrids and make them available to everyone in 2013. This cross resulted in the F1 Fast Version® varieties, characterized by having an extremely fast flowering time.
What are F1 Fast Version®?
F1 Fast Version® are hybrids between autoflowering and photoperiod-dependent plants and are characterized, as their name suggests, by having a very fast flowering time, reaching as little as 6 weeks in some of their varieties. This happens because, when crossing these two versions, a plant is born with the dominant gene of the photoperiod-dependent plants, while at the same time providing much faster flowering and maturation (reducing it by one or two weeks compared to photoperiod-dependent ones). Thus, we could say that the final product of this cross leaves a plant with the best of each of its parents.
So, although autoflowering plants already offer us quite fast flowering, they change cycles automatically and start flowering depending on the age of the plant. Meanwhile, F1 Fast Version® have the fast flowering characteristic of the auto, but require the care of a photoperiod-dependent plant. In this way, we will have to control the hours of light for our plant if we grow it indoors. In conclusion, we could say that the F1 Fast Version® is like a photoperiod-dependent plant but with the advantage of the fast flowering of the autoflowering one.
Thanks to their fast flowering, these plants are perfect for very humid, cold climates with high rainfall, as their harvest will be ready before the plant can become infected with the fungi typical of these climates. By then, the plant will have finished flowering and will not be exposed to that risk.
Below are the new additions to the Sweet Seeds® F1 Fast Version® catalog.
Gorilla Girl F1 Fast Version® (SWS86)
Sweet Seeds® surprises us with this new F1 Fast Version® variety that requires only 7 weeks of flowering. It is a descendant of Gorilla Girl® (SWS74), the variety with the highest THC in their catalog (reaching 31%), so the THC levels of the F1 Fast Version® are also quite high (they can reach 25%). The cross was made with Sweet Gelato Auto® (SWS76), another great potential in their catalog. From this, it has inherited the sweet and fruity aroma and flavor with hints of blue cypress, wood, and touches of citrus and earth.
This sativa-dominant strain will offer you a powerful and euphoric effect, as well as a very good resin production. Given its fast flowering, if you grow outdoors, you will have the harvest ready by early September.
Gorilla Girl F1 Fast Version®
Tropicana Poison F1 Fast Version® (SWS85)
Tropicana Poison F1 Fast Version® (SWS85) is the other novelty that comes from Sweet Seeds®. With a flowering stage between 6 and 7 weeks, this indica-dominant variety will offer you very particular colors, aroma, and flavor. 80% of the seeds grown of this variety will offer reddish colors in their plants. The result of the cross between the “Super Strong” Tropicanna Cookies and their autoflowering Red Poison Auto® (SWS39), it is a good resin producer and contains high levels of THC (up to 24%). Its aroma and flavor are intense, sweet, and dense with notes of mango, earth, wood, and slight hints of Skunk. If you grow outdoors, you can have its harvest ready by late August or early September, thanks to its fast flowering period.
