Joesy got frustrated and got rid of the seeds, which were then rescued by his friend Lone Waite. After growing them, they realized that the plants had amazing characteristics. Gorilla Glue #4 was after entering the cannabis industry. 

This strain got its name from its sticky flowers. Gorilla Glue is the most famous American glue for its fantastic properties: strong, fast and easy to find. 4 makes reference to the amount of phenotypes. Out of the four selected phenotypes, Gorilla Glue number 4 was the best one.

Gorilla Glue’s owner sued Joesy Whales for naming his strain like his glue. Joesy lost the claim and had to start calling it GG.
