Description
Everything about American Purple
American Purple is Positronics’ crown jewel and comes from the combination between Gran Daddy Purple and Purple Haze. This sativa dominant hybrid has inherited the beautiful lavender colours of both parents and the most important feature of each.
Gran Daddy Purple (indica) gives its high yields and delicious flavour and aroma, whereas the Purple Haze (sativa) offers stimulant effects, an elegant structure and a vigorous growth. Because of all these characteristics, this stain has been very well welcomed by sativas’ fans.
American Purple effects
American Purples’ effects are progressive but intense. First of all, you’ll feel typical sativa plants energising high, which increases social interactions and full the room with “good vibes”.
After a while of feeling the penetrating cerebral psychoactivity (which, on the other hand, does not usually cause paranoia or overwhelm), the indica side of this strain will envelop the body, offering medicinal, relaxing and therapeutic effects that are very beneficial for physical pain and insomnia, among other pathologies.
American Purple flavours and aromas
Lovers of sweet genetics will find in American Purple a blend of fruity flavours that can even be cloying if consumed too much. Its terpene profile gives it notes of wild berries, red fruits and a pleasant honey aftertaste in some phenotypes.
Those who love berries will enjoy its aroma very much, but it will most likely escape from the growing area and permeate the surroundings. A good extraction set up with antiodour filters will save you from problems with strangers and authorities.
How to grow American Purple indoors
Despite being a tall sativa with fairly large internodal distances, growing this strain is simple. Its calyx-to-leaf ratio is very good, producing compact, trichome-covered buds. However, if you want to see the lavender tones in the flowers, it is necessary to provide good ventilation, as this strain loves the movement of air shaking its structure.
On the other hand, its production is very good, although it needs training such as pruning or SCROG's to maximise fruit’s development. In optimal conditions and with a correct distribution of the plants, we can harvest amounts close to the gram/watt after 9/10 weeks of flowering.
How to grow American Purple outdoors
Growing outdoors we will find slender and well-structured individuals, although it will be necessary to control their height so as not to attract the attention of third parties, especially on balconies or terraces. If you have a large space free of nosy people, it is advisable to plant this variety at the end of March (in warm areas) to increase production.
Also, as with indoor growing, American Purple should be positioned in areas where the sun and air penetrate its structure evenly to accentuate its lavender touches. If you follow these tips and use the right substrate and nutrients, each plant of this variety can provide between 800 and 1000 grams of resinous buds to be harvested between mid and late October.

This one from Positronics surprised me. I was expecting more trouble during flowering, but it went smooth as silk. The buds are dense and the color is simply spectacular. Can't wait to try it fully cured, but the first test was great.

I've done a couple of grows with it now and it always delivers. Growth is vigorous from the start, and the purple is guaranteed if you give it a good cold snap at the end. For me, one of my favourites for the evening, that body stone is amazing.

Llevo ya un par de cultivos y siempre cumple. El crecimiento es vigoroso desde el principio, y el purple sale garantizado si le das un buen frío al final. Para mí, de las que más me gustan para la noche, ese efecto corporal es una maravilla.
