The Hanna brand HI9814 Gro Line Portable Multiparameter Meter is designed to perform multiple measurements with a single device and in a simple way, as the Hanna Gro Line range of meters only has two buttons to operate its system. It also allows us to replace the probe when necessary and even change it for a specific probe to take direct soil measurements.

With a water-resistant casing and an intuitive system

This professional meter consists of two parts: one is the central computer, which is responsible for taking measurements and displaying them on its LCD screen. The other part is the probe, which has a fiber connection that improves response and ensures connection. The casing it is assembled with is water-resistant, although we do not recommend submerging the device; only the probe should be submerged. This meter's design only includes one probe, which is prepared to provide accurate measurements of pH, EC, TDS, and Temperature, thus speeding up the work when it comes to analyzing irrigation water.

How to use it

To start working with it, the first thing to do is clean the probe with distilled water. This ensures that the measurements taken will be correct. Then, insert the batteries, close the cover, connect the probe, and press the ON/MODE button once. As soon as it turns on, it will show the battery level, then the full display will appear, and you can observe the pH measurement, temperature, stability, and device warnings. To see the EC or TDS level, simply press the mode button once, and similarly to see the pH level.

To customize the operating system to your liking, first, you must select the EC to TDS conversion mode 500 or 700. Simply press the on button for 6 seconds while the device is on. The letters (EC UNIT) will then appear on the screen, meaning that the selected unit of measurement is EC. To change to TDS 500, just press the (SET HOLD) button once, and the same if you want to change to TDS 700. Once you are clear about the type of measurement, press the on button once, and it will give you a choice between two options for calibrating the device: standard and quick calibration (QUICK CAL).

To calibrate the device, the easiest way is with QUICK CAL, as with just one sachet, you can fully calibrate the HI9814 portable multiparameter meter. pH, EC, and TDS will be perfectly adjusted. To do this, you must press the on button for 3 seconds while the device is on. The word CAL will then appear. At that moment, you must insert the probe into the QUICK CAL calibration sachet until the word OK appears and the LCD screen returns to the beginning. If the calibration is not performed correctly, it will indicate it with a warning.
