Sodium Thiosulphate is a product that’s generally used in the cannabis industry in order to obtain male pollen from female cannabis plants to later create female seeds- In order to use this product safely you will need to have a certain amount of knowledge when it comes to chemistry.
In order to obtain feminized seeds from your plants, you need to make a very specific mixture between two specific products; sodium Thiosulphate and silver nitrate which, when combined, make silver Thiosulphate. This is a product used by geneticists all over the world to revert female plants to male plants in order to produce male flowers. They then take the female pollen from that plant and use it to make purely female seeds.
Handling and using this product should only be done if you are following all necessary safety measures. We highly recommend thoroughly investigating this process and finding out the exact safety measures needed to be taken before handling this product, as well as wearing protective gear on your hands, eyes and mouth.
How to use Silver Nitrate and Sodium Thiosulphate Step by Step:
- You will need cups and plastic spoons. Never use metallic cutlery.
- In a plastic cup you will add 20 ml of distilled water and 0.35 g of Silver Nitrate and start diluting slowly.
- In another cup, 30 ml of distilled water and 1.3 g of Sodium Thiosulphate, stiring both slowly.
- Put both contents in the same glass and mix gently with a plastic spoon.
- You will dilute your 50 ml mix with 400 ml of distilled water, having a total solution of 450 ml. Then shake with precaution until you can see clear homogeneity in the mix.
- The last step, is to separate 100 ml of your final solution and add 400 ml more of distilled water to further dilute it, having ready 500 ml to use on your grow.
- Precautions: Its recommended to apply the same day of its making so it maintains all of its properties. Always use gloves, mask and safety goggles.
