Description
California Dream by Mandala Seeds is a stable 60/40 indica/sativa hybrid that grows quite well, producing intense aromas highly characteristic of indica strains, although its flowers look much more sativa, and its effect is also more sativa; active, energetic and euphoric. In order to grow this feminized strain, Mandala Seeds used strains from Mexico and Afghanistan. The resulting plant is stable, stress and fungi-resistant, and delicious, producing high quality results with just a little bit of effort; perfect for novice or guerrilla growers.
Growing Mandala Seeds’ California Dream
How to Grow California Dream Indoors
Thanks to the genetic makeup of this strain, California Dream is an incredibly balanced strain that tends to produce specimens with very few differences. That’s why it’s such the perfect strain for indoor growing. You can easily place 12 plants under a 600w light, such as a Lazerlite Dimmable Lighting Kit, and watch them grow almost identically. This makes working with your plants much easier, as you’ll have to dose the same amount for each and every plant, which reduces the amount of time that you have to spend taking care of them. One of the best ways to grow this strain is by using SCRoG or SoG methods, and it also does well with being pruned. The only thing that you need to keep in mind with this strain is that it needs less nitrogen than many other cannabis strains, and it needs at least 3 vegetative weeks before you can flip it to flower at about 1m tall. You can harvest around 400-500g per m2, and it takes around 65 days to flower.
How to grow California Dream Outdoors
Outdoors this strain is perfect for those looking for early-flowering, high yielding plants. This strain should be ready to harvest towards mid-September, so it should avoid the end-of-summer rains, which can be devastating when its buds are large enough – however, California Dream’s structure has mild resistance to fungi and rot thanks to its open buds. Regarding growth, it grows slightly faster and with more branches than indoors, although it doesn’t tend to grow over 2.5m. It does, however, grow quite wide, making it easy to manage and sturdy. These plants can produce anywhere between 600 and 1,200g, depending on the growing style and feeding schedule.
California Dream Strain Properties
California Dream’s properties are quite interesting. In as far as aroma and flavor, it’s quite similar to old school strains, with pungent, sour flavors that are similar to Skunk. However, the main flavors you’ll notice are fresh and caramel-like, similar to mint at times. Its effect is moderate, producing equal parts social and creative stimuli as well as relaxing the body moderately; it’s perfect for relaxing and having a conversation with friends.
- Sativa/Indica: 40/60%
- Flowering: 65 days indoors, mid-September outdoors
- Height: 0.7-1.2m indoors, 1.5-2.2m outdoors

Honestly, I was surprised by how easy it is to grow, both outdoor and indoor. The amount of powdered sugar-like resin it produces is brutal. The Indian hash-style aroma and flavour are overwhelming, a total old-school treat, it definitely leaves its mark.

My favourite, 70 days and done. Holds up well to indoor humidity up to 60%, which isn't bad. Not a huge plant, but the effects and flavour are delicious. Pure magic!

Great as always. One of the best flavours I've tried. The high is super relaxing, perfect for unwinding after a long day. Anyone else get that citrus hint?

I planted it outdoors and honestly it did great. Didn't grow huge, but the buds... so much resin! It had a gorgeous purple colour at the end of flowering, absolute beauty.

La planté en exterior y la verdad es que se portó genial. No creció enorme, pero los cogollos... ¡qué resina! Tenía un color morado precioso al final de la floración, una preciosidad.

I planted them a bit late, but the smell and quality of the buds is something else. Big, resinous and hard. I recommend using light nutrients, I only used guano and had huge, gorgeous buds. Has anyone tried it in pure coco?
Translated from Spanish
Las planté un poco tarde, pero el olor y calidad de sus cogollos es algo tremendo. Grandes, resinosos y duros. Recomiendo usar poco abono, yo solo guano y tenía unos cogollos enormes y preciosos. ¿Alguien la ha probado con coco puro?

A super complete strain, visually beautiful and with a brutal yield, both indoors and outdoors. Indoors the flavour is purer, but outdoors the yield is massive. And the perfect size for my small grow tent. A guaranteed hit!

Una variedad completísima, bonita visualmente y con una producción brutal, tanto en interior como en exterior. En interior el sabor es más puro, pero en exterior la producción es bestial. Y el tamaño perfecto para mi armario pequeño. ¡Un éxito asegurado!
