How does the Cocaine or Crack detection test work?
The test uses Scott's reagent, contained in a glass ampoule. When introducing a sample, the reagent triggers a chemical reaction that produces a color change. If the substance is cocaine or crack, a visible blue precipitate forms. The result can be compared with the included color chart.
Usage instructions
To test a substance, follow these steps:
- Break the ampoule.
- Insert a small amount of the sample.
- Place the plastic cap and shake well.
- Compare the color change with the results chart.
Warning: After testing, remember to safely dispose of the vial and sample.
Result interpretation
If the test detects cocaine or crack, the liquid will react forming a blue precipitate at the bottom of the ampoule. If there's no reaction or a different color, it likely doesn't contain those substances. This test is indicative, not definitive, and doesn't detect all possible adulterants. For greater accuracy, using several different tests is recommended.
