Today we’re going to talk about hydrofarm’s Fluorowing 125w Reflector; this reflector is one of the best options if you’re looking to maintain a mother plant, propagate or simply give your plants an amazing vegetative period. This reflector can easily take the weight of bulbs, much easier than many other conventional reflectors which tend to bend downwards. Fluorowing has all the characteristics of a perfect reflector, with its 125w fluorescent bulb, with a 6400k color spectrum and 7000 lumens, covering an 80×80 space without any issues and without generating any extra heat.
The bulbs are quite light and the entire reflector kit together only weighs 350g, so any grow tent should easily be able to deal with the weight of the structure. It’s recommended to have the bulb at around 20-30cm away from the top of the plants to make the absolute most out of it; it stimulates a compact growth with a shorter distance between nodes than if you were to use a traditional HPS bulb. The results this bulb gives are more similar to natural light than other typical grow lights, which will allow your plants to develop more comfortably. The product comes put together in a box, so all you have to do is take it out, hang it up and turn it on. It’s simple and light, making it the perfect product for novice growers and experienced growers alike.
Fluorowing doesn’t need a ballast, like any other CFL light, as it comes with a ballast included. This allows for less heat in the grow tent and less uncomfortable cables lying around, as well as allowing you to make the most of the electricity you’re using for your grow.

Its 60Hz frequency allows the plant to absorb this light much easier than with bulbs that have a lower frequency; frequency indicates the amount of times the bulb turns on and off; 1Hz means that the light will flicker 1 time per second, 2Hz is once every half a second, so you can do the math yourself. When you take a picture of your indoor grow you’ll probably notice little lines across the photo; this is the light frequency, and the more the lights flicker the less light the plants get.
This reflector is also compatible with other bulbs as long as they have a base of 125w or 200w; we don’t recommend using other bulbs with different wattages as you could end up with some serious problems.
