The first marijuana shopping center

Sounds good, right? The first marijuana shopping center. Two American business men, Sean Sheridan and Chris Elkins, had this idea a while ago, and due to their various businesses involving marijuana, they know what they’re talking about.

The spot they chose was Trinidad, Colorado which is about 20 miles north of New Mexico, which is where they plan on making every marijuana lover’s dream come true. According to the business men, the city chosen has some special laws when it comes to marijuana, and this has caused many marijuana dispensaries to pop up all over.

These laws basically state, unlike other US cities in which shops have to have a certain distance in between them, that shops can be placed right beside each other and can even be placed in the same shopping center.

For this reason, Sheridan and Elkins decided to entertain the possibility of opening a small shopping center with five big shops, open 24h a day to customers.

The center, which has two floors, was opened last April 2016, and although they originally wanted to open 17 shops, the law only allows for 5 in the same commercial area, although Sheridan and Elkins are positive that the law will change and they’ll be able to open more.

The project is completely supported by the establishments in this city, who believe that opening these new shops will cause an influx of tourists that will visit the city due to the curiosity caused by an actual medicinal marijuana shopping center. This new business predicts a revitalization of the city of Trinidad, creating more jobs and more revenue thanks to the tourists that will come visit the city to see the first marijuana shopping center in the world.

The idea of opening these kinds of shopping centers, according to Elkins, is to prove that it’s a good and possible idea, as well as the perfect place for a selection of marijuana-oriented shops; consumers will be able to find everything they need in the same building.

The creators’ dreams involve expanding their shopping centers to states and cities all over America where cannabis consumption is allowed by the law.

Obviously this idea will take a long time to sink in and even longer to reach Europe. Hopefully it’ll happen fast, so that everyone can enjoy all of the properties offered by this amazing plant, being able to buy their product in trusted shops instead of on the street.
