According to some research, myrcene also <strong>increases the affinity of THC<\/strong> with our CB1 receptor, thanks to which we achieve <strong>psychotropic effects<\/strong>. This happens because this specific terpene increases the <strong>permeability of cell membranes<\/strong>, which is an advantage for both <strong>recreational use<\/strong> (greater psychotropic effects) and <strong>medicinal use<\/strong> (increases the analgesic effect).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A scientific study by <strong>Steep Hill Labs, in California<\/strong>, directly relates the amount of myrcene found in the plant to the psychotropic effect offered by its consumption. They have observed that if the myrcene content is <strong>greater than 0.5%<\/strong>, the effect is more indica-like, while if it is lower than this percentage, the effect is more sativa-like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_are_the_medicinal_properties_of_myrcene\"><\/span><strong>What are the medicinal properties of myrcene?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to being used in the perfumery industry for fragrances, myrcene is widely applied in the <strong>pharmaceutical industry<\/strong> for its high therapeutic and medicinal properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here we list them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Analgesic:<\/strong> the consumption of myrcene helps our body generate certain substances responsible for inhibiting pain. Specifically, <strong>inflammatory or chronic pain<\/strong>, such as osteoarthritis or dermatitis. The terpene has this property acting both in synergy with the rest of the qualities of the cannabis plant, and separately and in isolation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Anti-inflammatory:<\/strong> this benefit in particular has been studied, above all, in relation to <strong>osteoarthritis<\/strong>. Various studies have demonstrated the ability of myrcene to slow down the destruction of cartilage.
