Although it is also really important to know that there are <strong>other influencing factors such <\/strong>as the <strong>growing season<\/strong>. In this example, the temperature is 68\u00baF (20\u00baC) and the lighting system is 600w:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>600\/1.28 = 468 m<\/strong><strong><sup>3<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\/h<\/strong> is the extraction speed that you need due heat difference indoors and outdoors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This calculation allows you to <strong>keep the temperature<\/strong> in your grow room at a<strong> 7\u00baF<\/strong> <strong>(4\u00baC) difference<\/strong> compared to the outdoor temperature. So, if you have a 1.2&#215;1.2x2m grow tent and a 600w lamp, you\u2019ll need a <strong>468m<\/strong><strong><sup>3<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\/h<\/strong> extractor. Now, all you have to do is<strong> find a <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbthegreenbrand.com\/122-odor-filters\"><strong>carbon filter<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>with the<strong> same sized opening and slightly stronger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In case the filter <strong>strength is less than the actual extraction itself, it may be fatal <\/strong>for the extraction system, your plants, and people. Remember that your <strong>odor filter <\/strong>should always be slightly stronger than your extraction fan when it comes to m<sup>3<\/sup>\/h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ducting\"><\/span><strong>Ducting<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have an <strong>extraction system,<\/strong> then you&#8217;ll also need an <strong>inline fan and filtration systems<\/strong> that must be <strong>connected by an aluminum duct<\/strong> which needs to be<strong> durable, flexible and fully opaque<\/strong>, and obviously the same width as your inline fans and other devices such as filters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For your inline system to <strong>pull as strong as possible, your ducting will need to be as<\/strong> <strong>straight as possible. Every bend <\/strong>in your ducting system means that you\u2019ll <strong>lose a bit of strength, around 50%<\/strong>, which <strong>can reduce your carbon filter.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbthegreenbrand.com\/blog\/importance-of-indoor-grow-fans\/\"><strong>Having a fan in your grow room is an absolute<\/strong><\/a><strong> must<\/strong>, as they<strong> directly influence the health of plants <\/strong>for different reasons such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Breathing<\/strong>: It allows plants to breathe, and an <strong>oscillating fan does wonders<\/strong> <strong>for rustling your plants\u2019 branches, leaves, and trunk which induces breathing<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Heat<\/strong>: Fans can also <strong>help to remove some of the extra heat in your grow room<\/strong> <strong>generated by your lighting system.
