To do this, the steps to follow are as follows:

Cut a couple of cm from the stem. It should be done at a 45º angle to obtain a branch with a shape similar to a flute mouthpiece.

Once cut, use the knife to scrape up to the first node to remove the protective layer of the stem. Many people fail because they make the mistake of scraping more than necessary, removing the cells responsible for rooting.

You should do a minimal scraping, removing just 2 mm of the stem. If you are not sure how to do it, it is better not to scrape, as if you don’t scrape it will take longer to root, but if you scrape too much, it will never root and will die.

Fill the small cup (it is recommended to use a shot glass because you will use very little) with our rooting hormone. We will apply it to our cutting with the help of the brush (never submerge the cuttings directly into the cup).

The pots to use will be 0.4 L, as they will root better in these. Moisten the substrate a little to wet it without excess. Make a hole in the center of the pot with your finger, deep enough to bury the cutting up to the first node.

The next step will be to spray the cutting with water on the leaves, and then place it in the propagator. Cut and add the hormone. Plant, spray, and put in the propagator cutting by cutting. This manages to maintain a humidity of 90%, to be controlled with the hygrometer. Moisten the plants, because if the substrate gets too wet or water falls to the bottom of the propagator, the plants will be damaged.

Provide 18 hours of light per day, maintaining humidity at 90%.

Extracting a mother day by day

Regarding the process during the following days, you will follow:

Day 2: when checking our cuttings, the lid should be completely wet.
